Brunshaupten

Brunshaupten is a district of the town Kühlungsborn, in the northeast of Germany, inhabited by 7,824 people nowadays. It belongs to the region Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in the northwest of the region.

A bit about Brunshaupten


Brunshaupten has an elongate beach and promenade, many hotels in typical German spa town architecture and a marina. It is the largest seaside spa town in Mecklenburg.
Brunshaupten and the othere two villages forming Kühlungsborn where first mentioned in 1177. Around 1219 the three villages were given by the soverign prince the nunnery Sonnenkamp. The inhabitants of the three villages lived poorly on fishing and agriculture till the XIX century, when Kühlungsborn became one of the first seaside resorts to be founded in Germany, dating back to the 1860s. The town of Kühlungsborn was founded on April 1, 1938 with the merger of the three municipalities; Fulgen, Brunshaupten and Arendsee and the city hosted many refugees after WWII. During the Cold War, East Germany government expropiated and nationalised hotels. It came a popular resort destination from 1990's.

3 Mark (drei Mark)


This banknotes worth 10 Pfennig was first circulated in 1921. On the main left side it can be seen a text saying that the town pays the owner of the banknote 3 Marks. There is also a 3 and the word Mark inside a rhombus. In the right side it can be seen a cow being milked by a woman, some hives and the sea. In the upper part there's a text saying: "Niz öwer min Brunshöven geiht.Wo melk un Honnig fleiten deiht". On the other side of the banknote appears an image of the main beach ot the town, saying in the lower part "Strand mit Badeanstalten" that means beach with bathing establishments. In the left and right appear two 3's and M's (standing for Mark) and images of people having fun by the sea.As for the digital watermark, it has no watermark. The size of this banknote is 9.1 cm x 6 cm.
