Belarus (1992-2000)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period after the fall of the communist regime, after which Belarus proclaimed its independence, its Constitution was approved (1994) and in the elections of that same year, Alexander Lukashenko won and the 1995 referendum was held, in which the symbols of the country, the official status of the Russian language and if there should be economic integration with Russia, being approved with more than 75% of votes.. There are banknotes of 50 kópeks, 1 Belarusian ruble, 3 Belarusian rubles, 10 Belarusian rubles, 25 Belarusian rubles, 50 Belarusian rubles, 100 Belarusian rubles, 200 Belarusian rubles, 500 Belarusian rubles, 1,000 Belarusian rubles, 5,000 Belarusian rubles, 10,000 Belarusian rubles, 20,000 Belarusian rubles, 50,000 Belarusian rubles, 100,000 Belarusian rubles, 200,000 rublos, 500,000 Belarusian rubles, 1,000,000 rublos and 5,000,000 Belarusian rubles.

50 kopeks (пяцьдзесят капеек)

This banknotes worth 50 kopeks was first circulated in 1992. On the main side it can be seen a bushy-tailed squirrel and a 50, surrounded by decorative elements. In the upper part appears the written value of the banknote and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements, a cross inside a square and another 50. On the other side of the banknote appears the Pahonia, Belarusian coat of arms between 1991 and 1995, historical coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
There is a decorative pattern, two 50's and in the lower part, the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Разліковы Білет Нацыянальнага банка Беларусі). Moreover in the right there is a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law. This banknote has a laberynth along all the banknote as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 10.6 cm x 5.3 cm.

 

50,000 rubles (пяцьдзесят тысяч рублёў)


This banknotes worth 50,000 rubles was first circulated in 1995. On the main side you can see the Kholm Gate, a fragment of the 19th century gate of the citadel of Brest Fortress, in Brest; it also has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Нацыянальны банк Рэспублікі Беларусь). In its left appears the same decorative element that appears in Belarusian flag, called hoist and derives from local flowers and plants. It can also be seen a 50,000 and in the right, a gap for the digital watermark.
The rest of this part of the banknote is decorated with geometric elements. On the other side of the banknote there is an image of the main entrance to the Memorial Brest Hero-Fortress, in Brest. There are two hoists, one on each side of the decoration and, in the left, two 50,000's, the written value of the banknote and a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law. This banknote has Kholm Gate as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15 cm x 6.9 cm.

Belarus (2000-2016)

This serie of banknotes is the first after the comunist regime was overthrown. There are banknotes of 1 Belarusian ruble, 5 Belarusian rubles, 10 Belarusian rubles, 20 Belarusian rubles, 50 Belarusian rubles, 100 Belarusian rubles, 500 Belarusian rubles, 1,000 Belarusian rubles, 5,000 Belarusian rubles, 10,000 Belarusian rubles, 20,000 Belarusian rubles, 50,000 Belarusian rubles, 100,000 Belarusian rubles and 200,000 Belarusian rubles.

1 ruble (адзін рублёў)

This banknotes worth 1 ruble was first circulated in 2000. On the main side it can be seen a 1 surrounded by decorative elements. In the upper part appears the written value of the banknote and in the lower one, the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Нацыянальны банк Рэспублікі Беларусь). The rest of the banknote is decorated with geometric elements and in the right, there's a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law.

On the other side of the banknote there is an image of the building of the National Academy of Science of Belarus, in Minsk. There is a hoist, two 1's and the written value of the banknote. This banknote has a laberynth along all the banknote as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 11 cm x 6 cm.



5 rubles (пяць рублёў)

This banknotes worth 5 rubles was first circulated in 2000. On the main side it can be seen a 5 surrounded by decorative elements. In the upper part appears the written value of the banknote and in the lower one, the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Нацыянальны банк Рэспублікі Беларусь). The rest of the banknote is decorated with geometric elements and in the right, there's a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law.

On the other side of the banknote there is an image of Trayetskaye Pradmyestsye, the oldest surviving district of Minsk. There is a hoist, two 1's and the written value of the banknote. This banknote has a laberynth along all the banknote as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 11 cm x 6 cm.


10 rubles (дзесяць рублёў)

This banknotes worth 10 rubles was first circulated in 2000. On the main side it can be seen a 10 surrounded by decorative elements. In the upper part appears the written value of the banknote and in the lower one, the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Нацыянальны банк Рэспублікі Беларусь). The rest of the banknote is decorated with geometric elements and in the right, there's a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law.
On the other side of the banknote there is an image of the building of the National Library of Belarus, in Minsk. There is a hoist, two 10's and the written value of the banknote. This banknote has a laberynth along all the banknote as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 11 cm x 6 cm. 


20 rubles (дваццаць рублёў)


This banknotes worth 20 rubles was first circulated in 2000. On the main side you can see the headquarters of the Belarusian National Bank, in Minsk; it also has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Нацыянальны банк Рэспублікі Беларусь). In its left appears the same decorative element that appears in Belarusian flag, called hoist and derives from local flowers and plants. It can also be seen two 20's and in the right, a gap for the digital watermark.

There are two hoists, one on each side of the decoration and, in the left, a 100, the written value of the banknote and a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law. This banknote has a woman dancing ballet as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15 cm x 6.9 cm.

500 rubles (пяцьсот рублёў)

This banknotes worth 500 rubles was first circulated in 2000. On the main side you can see the Republican Trade Unions' Palace of Culture, in Minsk; it also has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Нацыянальны банк Рэспублікі Беларусь). In its left appears the same decorative element that appears in Belarusian flag, called hoist and derives from local flowers and plants. It can also be seen two 500's and in the right, a gap for the digital watermark.
The rest of this part of the banknote is decorated with geometric elements. On the other side of the banknote there are architectural decorations on the Republican Palace of Culture of Belarus. There are two hoists, one on each side of the decoration and, in the left, a 500, the written value of the banknote and a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law. This banknote has the facade of Palace of Culture as digital watermark and a security thread too. The size of this banknote is 15.1 cm x 7.4 cm.

1,000 rubles (тысяча рублёў)


This banknotes worth 1,000 rubles was first circulated in 2000. On the main side you can see the National Museum of Arts of Belarus, in Minsk; it also has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Нацыянальны банк Рэспублікі Беларусь). In its left appears the same decorative element that appears in Belarusian flag, called hoist and derives from local flowers and plants. It can also be seen two 1,000's and in the right, a gap for the digital watermark.

The rest of this part of the banknote is decorated with geometric elements. On the other side of the banknote there is a fragment of the picture Portrait of the wife with flowers and fruits by the Belarusian painter I. Khrutski. This banknotes worth 5,000 rubles was first circulated in 2000. 20,000 rubles (дваццаць тысяч рублёў)


This banknotes worth 20,000 rubles was first circulated in 2000. On the main side you can see the Rumyantsev-Paskevich Residence, a 18th century Neoclassic palace, in Gomel; it also has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Нацыянальны банк Рэспублікі Беларусь). In its left appears Corinthian columns, decorative element that appears in the palace It can also be seen two 20,000's and in the right, a gap for the digital watermark.
The rest of this part of the banknote is decorated with geometric elements. On the other side of the banknote there is the view of the Rumyantsev-Paskevich Residence in a painting by A. Idzkouski's.
