Pakistan (2008-nowadays)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period the party PML almost achieved a supermajory, being Nawaz Sharif elected as the Prime Minister. There are banknotes of  5 rupees, 10 rupees, 20 rupees and 50 rupees. 

10 روپیہ/rupees (دس روپے/ten rupees)

This banknotes worth 10 rupees was first issued in 2013. On the main side you can see Muhammad Ali Jinnah, a Pakistani lawyer and founder of Pakistan and Governor-General until his death. In left side there is a gap for the watermark and in opposite corners you can see two 10's. There are decorative elements and the written value of the banknote. In the upper part you can see the name of the National Bank in Urdu .(بینک دولت پاکستان)
On in other side of the banknote it can be seen Bab ul Khyber which is the entrace to Khyber Pass, near Afghanistan border. In the upper part you can see the name of the National Bank in English (State Bank of Pakistan) and the written name of the banknote. There are two 10's and in the lower part there a stamp. This banknote has a 10 and Muhammad Ali Jinnan as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 10.5 cm x 6.5 cm.

Pakistan (1953-1957)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period which proclaimed the Constitution of 1956, which declares the country as an Islamic Republic and establishes a democratic parliamentary system as a form of government; Iskander Mirza was the first Bengali president of the country (1956) but he eliminated the democratic system and gave a coup d'état. There are banknotes of 1 rupee, 2 rupees, 5 rupees, 10 rupees and 100 rupees.

1 rupee  (ایک روپے/one rupee)

This banknotes worth 1 rupee was first issued in 1953. On the main side right you can see the star and crescent (which is the planet Venus), a Muslim symbol inherited from the Ottoman Empire. In left side there is a gap for the watermark and in opposite corners you can see four 1's, both with Latin and Arabic characters. There are decorative elements and the written value of the banknote. In the upper part you can see the name of the National Bank in Urdu (دولت.بینک پاکستان).

On in other side of the banknote it can be seen Naulakha Pavilion, a 17th century white marble personal camera with a curvilinear ceiling which is part of the Walled City of Lahore. In the upper part you can see the name of the National Bank and the written name of the banknote. There are three 1's and in the right part, a gap for the watermark. This banknote has the star and crescent as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 10.2 cm x 6.3 cm.

Pakistan (1986-2005)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period after the death of President Zia in a plane crash (being Benazir Bhutto electecd first female Prime Minister) and Kargil War between Pakistan and India, which allowed general Musharraf take over through a coup d'état, governing untill 2008. There are banknotes of  2 rupees, 5 rupees, 10 rupees, 50 rupees 100 rupees, 500 rupees and 1,000 rupees.  

2 روپیہ/rupees  (دو روپے/two rupees)

This banknotes worth 2 rupees was first issued in 1985. On the main side right you can see the star and crescent (which is the planet Venus), a Muslim symbol inherited from the Ottoman Empire. In left side there is a gap for the watermark and in opposite corners you can see four 2's, both with Latin and Arabic characters. There are decorative elements and the written value of the banknote. In the upper part you can see the name of the National Bank in Urdu (دولت.بینک پاکستان).

In the upper part you can see the name of the National Bank and the written name of the banknote. There are four 2's and in the right part, a gap for the watermark. This banknote has the star and crescent as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 10.2 cm x 6.3 cm.

5 روپیہ/rupees (دس روپے/five rupees)

This banknotes worth 5 rupees was first issued in 1983. On the main side you can see Muhammad Ali Jinnah, a Pakistani lawyer and founder of Pakistan and Governor-General until his death. On in other side of the banknote it can be seen Khojak Tunnel, a railway tunnel in Qilla Abdullah district (near Afghanistan), being one of the longest in South Asia. In the upper part you can see the name of the National Bank in English (State Bank of Pakistan) and the written name of the banknote. There are two 5's and in the upper left part there a stamp. This banknote has Muhammad Ali Jinnan's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 12.6 cm x 7.2 cm.
