Turkey (1952-1979)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period of presidency of Celal Bayar and Prime Minister Adnan Menderese (retired from office in 1960 by General Cemal Gürsel) and then alternations between the True Path Party of Süleyman Demirel and the Republican People's Party of Ismet Inönü and Bülent Ecevit (with which by Turkey carried out a military operation in Cyprus in 1974) and another coup was organized in 1971, abolishing an already fractured parliament during the Demirel executive. There are banknotes of 2.5 Turkish liras, 5 Turkish liras, 10 Turkish liras, 50 Turkish liras, 100 Turkish liras, 500 Turkish liras and 1,000 Turkish liras.

5 Turkish liras (beş Türk lirası)

This banknote worth 5 liras was first circulated June the 8th of 1588. On the main side right, you can see Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkish nationalist militar and founder of the Republic of Turkey, who europeanize Turkey. In the center it can be seen decorative elements and the written value of the banknote, plus a 5 and in the upper part appears the name of the National Bank in Turkish (Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası).
In the corners can be seen four 5's.
On the other side of the banknote can be seen three Turkish girls with baskets with hazelnuts because Turkey is the most important productor of them, specially in the Black Sea region (called Karadeniz). You can also see three 5's, two of them in opposite corners, the name of the National Bank and decorative elements. This banknote has Mustafa Atatürk's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15.1 cm x 6.7 cm.

Turkey (1987-2005)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the liberalisation of the economy and the aproach to the EU, being the last Prime Minister of this time Recep Erdoğan. There are banknotes of 10 Turkish lire, 100 Turkish lira, 500 Turkish lira, 1,000 Turkish lira, 5,000 Turkish lira, 10,000 Turkish lira, 20,000 Turkish lira, 50,000 Turkish lira, 100,000 Turkish lira, 250,000 Turkish lira, 500,000 Turkish lira, 1,000,000 Turkish lira, 5,000,000 Turkish lira, 10,000,000 Turkish lira and 20,000,000 Turkish lira.

10,000 Turkish liras (on bin Türk lirasi)

This banknote worth 10,000 liras was first circulated May the 9th of 1988. On the main side right, you can see Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkish nationalist militar and founder of the Republic of Turkey, who europeanize Turkey. In the center it can be seen decorative elements and the written value of the banknote. There are two 10,000's and in the upper part appears the name of the National Bank in Turkish (Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası).
In the back part of the banknote appears the Selim mosque, in Edirne and its architect, Mimar Sinan. You can see two 10,000's in opposite corners and decorative elements, like a kind of rose in the right downside corner. It has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank too. This banknote has Mustafa Atatürk's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 14.6 cm x 7.2 cm.

20,000 Turkish liras (yirmir bin Türk lirasi)

This banknote worth 20,000 liras was first circulated May the 9th of 1988. On the main side right, you can see Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkish nationalist militar and founder of the Republic of Turkey, who europeanize Turkey. In the center it can be seen decorative elements and the written value of the banknote. There are three 20,000's and in the upper part appears the name of the National Bank in Turkish (Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası).
In the back part of the banknote appears the New Head Office Building of the Central Bank of Turkey, in Ankara. You can see two 20,000's in opposite corners and decorative elements, like a kind of rose in the right downside corner. It has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank too. This banknote has Mustafa Atatürk's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15.2 cm x 7.6 cm.
