This serie of banknotes is the last one in the communist period. There are banknotes of 1 Bulgarian lev, 2 Bulgarian leva, 5 Bulgarian leva, 10 Bulgarian leva and 20 Bulgarian leva.

1 Bulgarian lev (един лев)

This banknotes worth 1 lev was issued in 1962. On the main side left it can be seen Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times, with the written value of the banknote and a 1. In the upper part appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България) and there are three 1's in the corners plus the acronym of Bulgaria's name.
On the other side of the banknote appers the Monument on Mount Shipka, monument to those who died for the Liberation of Bulgaria in the 19th century. There are also three 1's and the written value. Moreover there are two texts, the first one says that the banknote is secured with gold and all the assets of the bank and the second that countefeiting is punished by law. The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has sickles and hammers (communist symbol) as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 10.4 cm x 5.4 cm.

2 Bulgarian leva (два лева)

This banknotes worth 2 leva was issued in 1962. On the main side left it can be seen Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times, with the written value of the banknote and two 2's. In the upper part appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България) and there is another 2 plus the acronym of Bulgaria's name. 
On the other side of the banknote appers a female grapes harvester with the traditional Bulgarian dressing. There are also four 2's and the written value. Moreover there are two texts, the first one says that the banknote is secured with gold and all the assets of the bank and the second that countefeiting is punished by law. The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has sickles and hammers (communist symbol) as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 10.9 cm x 5.6 cm. 

5 Bulgarian leva (пет лева)

This banknotes worth 5 leva was issued in 1962. On the main side left it can be seen Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times, with the written value of the banknote and a 5. In the upper part appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България) and there is another 5 plus the acronym of Bulgaria's name.  On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen a Black Sea resort.

This banknotes worth 10 leva was issued in 1962. On the main side left it can be seen Georgi Dimitrov, Bulgarian polititian who, belonging to Communist Party, was president of the country and who was president of Communist International; and the Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times. It also has the written value of the banknote, three 10's and in the upper part appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България).
On the other side of the banknote appers Devnya plant with mountains in the background, in Devnya. There are also two 10's and the written value. Moreover there are two texts, the first one says that the banknote is secured with gold and all the assets of the bank and the second that countefeiting is punished by law.
