Guinea (1985-nowadays)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period after the coup d'etat of Lasana Conté and Diarra Traoré, with which the first became President and the second, Prime Minister. Political prisoners were released, more than 200,000 people returned from exile and an attempt was made to leave the socialist model. In 1992 the power was returned to the civilians, with the victory of Conté and his political party in the presidential and legislative elections but the transition to a democracy was not achieved (the opposition leader Alpha Condé was imprisoned a few months), with several attempts to failed murder and attempts to extend their presidential power over time. The coup d'etat of 2008 confirmed Lasana Conté as President (until his death at the end of the year), replaced by Moussa Dadis Camara (injured in protests and had to negotiate with the president of Burkina Faso and Sékouba Konaté a 6 month transition for the return of power to civilians). The elections were won by the opponent Alpha Condé, who faced some coup attempt. In 2013 he faced a series of protests and inter-ethnic conflicts and in 2014, the Ebola crisis. There are banknotes of 25 Guinean francs, 50 Guinean francs, 100 Guinean francs, 500 Guinean francs, 1,000 Guinean francs, 5,000 Guinean francs, 10,000 Guinean francs and 20,000 Guinean francs.

25 Guinean francs (vingt-cinq francs guinéens)

This banknote worth 25 francs was first circulated in 1985. On the main side left it can be seen a Guinean kid. Next to him there's a 25 and in the center there's the written value of the banknote, Guinea's coat of arms and the name of the National Bank in French (Banque Centrale de la République de Guinée) in the upper part. In the right there's another 25 and a with the written value of the banknote and a wooden carving of a mask. In the lower part there's a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law.
The rest of the banknote is completed with decorative elements. On the other side of the banknote appears a woman weaving in her village and on the right, a wood carving. Moreover there are two 25's and the written value of the banknote too. The rest of the banknote is completed with decorative elements. This banknote has no digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 12 cm x 5.4 cm.


100 Guinean francs (cent francs guinéens)

This banknote worth 100 francs was first circulated in 1998. On the main side left it can be seen a Guinean lady smiling with a headdress. Next to him there's a 100 and in the center there's the written value of the banknote, Guinea's coat of arms and the name of the National Bank in French (Banque Centrale de la République de Guinée) in the upper part. In the right there's another 25 and a with the written value of the banknote and a wooden carving of a naked woman. In the lower part there's a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law.
The rest of the banknote is completed with decorative elements. On the other side of the banknote appears an image of banana harvest and on the right, a carving of an African woman carrying a load on her head. Moreover there are two 100's and the written value of the banknote too. The rest of the banknote is completed with decorative elements. This banknote has no digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13 cm x 6.4 cm.

Slovenia (1992-2007)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period after the independence of the country of Yugoslavia, in which the Slovenes chose Milan Kučan as President (re-elected in 1997) and Janez Drnovšek as Prime Minister. At this time it led to a gradual economic, social transformation and trade was oriented towards the West. Drnovšek stopped being PM in 2002 and that same year he became President of the country until 2007. Under his presidency the referendums of union of Slovenia to NATO and the European Union were voted and approved with Janez Janša as Prime Minister, under which there was a period of unsustainable growth, with Slovenian banks overindebted by the optimism caused by the union to the EU. There are banknotes of 10 Slovenian tolars, 20 Slovenian tolars, 50 Slovenian tolars, 100 Slovenian tolars, 200 Slovenian tolars, 500 Slovenian tolars, 1,000 Slovenian tolars, 5,000 Slovenian tolars and 10,000 Slovenian tolars.

20 Slovenian tolars (dvajset tolarjev)

This banknote worth 20 tolars was first circulated in January the 15th of 1992. On the main side left it can be seen Johann Weikhard von Valvasor, a nobleman from Carniola (now part of Slovenia) who was a scientist and polymath, besides having joined the Royal Society of London and being a pioneer in the study of karst landscape. In the left there's the written name of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Slovenian (Banka Slovenije), a 20, a compass and decorative elements.
On the other side of the banknote appears the slogan dulcis ex labore fructus (sweetness is the fruit of work in Latin), with the map of the country in the background and some angels. Moreover there's another 20 and written value of the banknote and the National Bank too. The rest of the banknote is completed with decorative elements. This banknote has Johann Weikhard von Valvasor as digital watermark and a security thread too. The size of this banknote is 12.8 cm x 6.3 cm.

Denmark (2009-nowadays)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period in which Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen was appointed secretary general of NATO, inheriting the post Lars Løkke Rasmussen who governed until 2011 and since 2015 (in that period was replaced by the Social Democrat Helle Thorning-Schmidt, the first PM in history from Denmark). There are banknotes of 50 Danish krone, 100 Danish krone, 200 Danish krone, 500 Danish krone and 1,000 Danish krone.

50 Danish krone (halvtreds kroner)

This banknote worth 50 krone was first circulated in August the 11th 2009. On the main side right it can be seen Sallingsund Bridge, which connects the island of Mors and Salling peninsula in Jutland one. In the center there's the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Danish (Danmarks Nationalbank). In the left part of the banknote appears a 50, yellow dots, a gap for the watermark and an hologram with Skarpsalling vessel shape.
On the other side of the banknote there's Skarpsalling vessel, a more than 5,000 years old bowl, considered one of the most beautiful north of the Alps. There's also a 50 in the upper right corner, a map with the localization of the bridge and where the vessel was found; moreover it has a text saying that the banknote was issued by the National Bank, all of that surrounded with floristic and decorative elements. This banknote has a 50 and Skuldelev Viking ship (rests of ships found in Roskilde Fjord) as digital watermark as well as a security thread and an iridesent thread. The size of this banknote is 12.5 cm x 7.2 cm.

100 Danish krone (et hundrede kroner)

This banknote worth 100 krone was first circulated in May the 4th 2010. On the main side right it can be seen the Little Belt Bridge over Little Belt strain which connects the island of Funen and Jutland peninsula. In the center there's the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Danish (Danmarks Nationalbank). In the left part of the banknote appears a 100, yellow dots, a gap for the watermark and an hologram with Hindsgavl dagger shape.
On the other side of the banknote there's Hindsgavl dagger, a Neolithic weapon made of flint around late Stone Age. There's also a 100 in the upper right corner, a map with the localization of the bridge and where the dagger was found; moreover it has a text saying that the banknote was issued by the National Bank, all of that surrounded with floristic and decorative elements. This banknote has a 100 and Skuldelev Viking ship (rests of ships found in Roskilde Fjord) as digital watermark as well as a security thread and an iridesent thread. The size of this banknote is 13.5 cm x 7.2 cm.

200 Danish krone (halvtreds kroner)

This banknote worth 200 krone was first circulated in October the 19th 2010. On the main side right it can be seen Knippelsbro and one of its control towers, a bascule bridge  which connects the islands of Zealand and Slotsholmen in Copenhague. In the center there's the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Danish (Danmarks Nationalbank). In the left part of the banknote appears a 200, yellow dots, a gap for the watermark and an hologram with Langstrup belt plate shape.
On the other side of the banknote there's Langstrup belt plate, a bronze object produced around 1,400 BC. There's also a 200 in the upper right corner, a map with the localization of the bridge and where the belt plate was found; moreover it has a text saying that the banknote was issued by the National Bank, all of that surrounded with floristic and decorative elements. This banknote has a 200 and Skuldelev Viking ship (rests of ships found in Roskilde Fjord) as digital watermark as well as a security thread and an iridesent thread. The size of this banknote is 14.5 cm x 7.2 cm.

Argentina (2002-2015)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period when Argentina suffered a finantial crisis with a lot of bank run (corralito in Spanish) and the presidence of Néstor Kirchner and then his wife Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. There are banknotes of  2 Argentine pesos, 5 Argentine pesos, 10 Argentine pesos, 20 Argentine pesos, 50 Argentine pesos and 100 Argentine pesos.

2 Argentine pesos (dos pesos)

This banknote worth 2 pesos was first circulated in November the 26th 1997. On the main side right you can see Bartolomé Mitre, Argentinian general and president of the country (1862-1868), founder of the modern Argentinian state (before known as Argentine Confederation). In his right appears his book Historia de Belgrano y de la Independencia Argentina and in his left, a part of his house. There two 2's and the written value of the banknote. In the upper part has the name of the National Bank in Spanish (Banco Central de la República Argentina).
On the other side you can see Museo Mitre, a museum dedicated to Argentinian history in Buenos Aires. It has the written value of the banknote, the official name of the country (República Argentina) and the motto too. In the right appears the gap for the watermark, two 2's and Argentine coat of arms. This banknote has Bartolomé Mitre's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15.3 cm x 6.3 cm.

5 Argentine pesos (cinco pesos)

This banknote worth 5 pesos was first circulated in June the 22nd 1998. On the main side right you can see José de San Martín, an Argentinian general and the prime leader of the southern part of South America's independece from the Spanish Empire. In his right appears Argentinian Declaration of Independence and in his left, a painting of San Martín and Bernardo O'Higgins (Chile independentist leader) called Abrazo de Maipú (Maipú's hug), by Pedro Subercaseaux. 
There two 5's, the written value of the banknote and in the upper part, the name of the National Bank in Spanish (Banco Central de la República Argentina). On the other side you can see Cerro de la Gloria, a monument to the Army of the Andes in Mendoza and Order of the Liberator General San Martín medal. It has the written value of the banknote, the official name of the country (República Argentina) and the motto too. In the right appears the gap for the watermark, two 5's and Argentine coat of arms. This banknote has José de San Martín's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15.4 cm x 6.4 cm.

Brazil (1994-2003)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period of Henrique Cardozo precidency and the beginning of Lula da Silva one. There are banknotes of 1 real, 2 reais, 5 reais, 10 reais, 20 reais, 50 reais and 100 reais.

1 Brazilian real (um real)

This banknote worth 1 real was first circulated in 1994. On the main side center, you can see Effigy of the Republic (Efigie da República) used as a national personification in Brazil symbolizing the Republic, portrayed as a bust. In its left there is a 1, the sentence Deus seja louvado (God be praised), the word real and over it, the name of the National Bank (Banco Central do Brasil). In the right appears Brazil's coat of arms and another 1.
In the back part of it appears a sapphire-spangled emerald (beija flor in Portuguese), a species of hummingbird that occurs in the Amazon rainforest. It has decorative elements, the value of the banknote next to the picture and two 1's. This banknote has the bird previously mentioned as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13.7 cm x 6.4 cm.

5 Brazilian reals (cinco reais)

This banknote worth 5 reals was first circulated in 1994. On the main side center, you can see Effigy of the Republic (Efigie da República) used as a national personification in Brazil symbolizing the Republic, portrayed as a bust. In its left there is a 5, the sentence Deus seja louvado (God be praised), the word real and over it, the name of the National Bank (Banco Central do Brasil). In the right appears Brazil's coat of arms and another 5.
In the back part of it appears a great egret (garça in Portuguese), a species of egret that occurs in Asia, Africa, the Americas and southern Europe. It has decorative elements, the value of the banknote next to the picture and two 5's. This banknote has the bird previously mentioned as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13.9 cm x 6.4 cm.


20 Brazilian reals (vinte reais)

This banknote worth 20 reals was first circulated in 1994. On the main side center, you can see Effigy of the Republic (Efigie da República) used as a national personification in Brazil symbolizing the Republic, portrayed as a bust. In its left there is a 20, the sentence Deus seja louvado (God be praised), the word real and over it, the name of the National Bank (Banco Central do Brasil). In the right appears Brazil's coat of arms and another 20.

In the back part of it appears golden lio tamarin (mico-leão-dourado in Portuguese), a species of monkey that occurs in the Atlantic coastal forests of Brazil. It has decorative elements, the value of the banknote next to the picture and two 20's. This banknote has the monkey previously mentioned as digital watermark and has a holographic band too. The size of this banknote is 14.0 cm x 6.5 cm.

Belgium (1990-2002)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period in which the Belgian franc was progressively replaced by the euro. In this period the prime minister was Jean-Luc Dehaene of the Christian-Democratic and Flamenco Party, which carried out a reform in 1993 in which Belgium became totally a federal state. In the 1999 elections, the traditional parties of the government suffered a significant defeat by the Dioxin affair, leading Guy Verhofstadt to form a government of liberals, socialists and greens, which shortly after announced a gradual elimination of the seven nuclear reactors of Belgium and a fifth constitutional reform, with the agreements of Lambermont and Lombard. There are banknotes of 100 Belgian francs, 200 Belgian francs, 500 Belgian francs, 1,000 Belgian francs, 2,000 Belgian francs and 10,000 Belgian francs.

100 Belgian francs (cent francs/honderd frank/hundert franken)

This banknotes worth 100 francs was first circulated in 1995. On the main side left it can be seen James Ensor, Belgian painter who participated in the avant-garde movements of the early 20th century, influencing expressionism and surrealism. In the right appears a part of his paint, Masks and Death, a fan and a feathered mask with a big nose. The rest of the banknote has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Flemish (Nationale Bank Van Belgie), plus a gap for the watermark and a 100.
On the other side of the banknote appears the Ensor's pain The Baths of Ostend, a Japanese paper engraving that represent bathhouses. There is a 100, the written value fo the banknote and the name of the National Bank in French (Banque Nationale de Belgique) and German (Belgische Nationalbank), with the rest of the banknote completed with decorative elements. This banknote has James Ensor portrait and his signature as digital watermark and a security thread too. The size of this banknote is 13.9 cm x 7.5 cm.

This serie of banknotes belongs to the liberalisation of the economy and the aproach to the EU, being the last Prime Minister of this time Recep Erdoğan. There are banknotes of 10 Turkish lire, 100 Turkish lira, 500 Turkish lira, 1,000 Turkish lira, 5,000 Turkish lira, 10,000 Turkish lira, 20,000 Turkish lira, 50,000 Turkish lira, 100,000 Turkish lira, 250,000 Turkish lira, 500,000 Turkish lira, 1,000,000 Turkish lira, 5,000,000 Turkish lira, 10,000,000 Turkish lira and 20,000,000 Turkish lira.

10,000 Turkish liras (on bin Türk lirasi)

This banknote worth 10,000 liras was first circulated May the 9th of 1988. On the main side right, you can see Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkish nationalist militar and founder of the Republic of Turkey, who europeanize Turkey. In the center it can be seen decorative elements and the written value of the banknote. There are two 10,000's and in the upper part appears the name of the National Bank in Turkish (Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası).
In the back part of the banknote appears the Selim mosque, in Edirne and its architect, Mimar Sinan. You can see two 10,000's in opposite corners and decorative elements, like a kind of rose in the right downside corner. It has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank too. This banknote has Mustafa Atatürk's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 14.6 cm x 7.2 cm.

20,000 Turkish liras (yirmir bin Türk lirasi)

This banknote worth 20,000 liras was first circulated May the 9th of 1988. On the main side right, you can see Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkish nationalist militar and founder of the Republic of Turkey, who europeanize Turkey. In the center it can be seen decorative elements and the written value of the banknote. There are three 20,000's and in the upper part appears the name of the National Bank in Turkish (Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası).
In the back part of the banknote appears the New Head Office Building of the Central Bank of Turkey, in Ankara. You can see two 20,000's in opposite corners and decorative elements, like a kind of rose in the right downside corner. It has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank too. This banknote has Mustafa Atatürk's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15.2 cm x 7.6 cm.

Sweden (1990-2015)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period in which, after an economic crisis, in the 1991 elections the Social Democrats lost power in favor of the reformist Carl Bildt, who introduced economic measures such as privatizing some companies, lowering taxes and negotiating entry into the EU. In the 1994 elections the Social Democrats came back to power, first with Ingvar Carlsson as prime minister and then with Göran Persson, which lasted until 2006. In 1995 Sweden joined the EU and in 2000 the bridge linking Malmö and Copenhagen was built, symbol of European integration although in 2003 the country refused to join the euro. In addition these years were somewhat turbulent, with the murder of the foreign minister Anna Lindh and the disturbances of Gothenburg. In the 2006 elections the Alliance for Sweden won and Fredrik Reinfeldt was appointed prime minister, carrying out a reformist policy until 2014, when the Social Democrat Stefan Löfven won the elections. There are banknotes of 20 Swedish kronor, 50 Swedish kronor, 100 Swedish kronor, 500 Swedish kronor and 1,000 Swedish kronor.

20 Swedish kronor (tjugo kronor)

This banknote worth 20 kronor was first circulated in 1990. On the main side right it can be seen Selma Lagerlöf, Swedish writer who was the first winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1909. In the center there's a part of Gösta Berling's Saga and an image of Lagerlöf driving a carriage and a landscape in Värmland. Moreover there are two 20's, the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Swedish (Sveriges Riksbank). In the left it has a gap and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. 
On the other side it can be seen a landscape of the play The Wonderful Adventures of Nils in which Nils and the goose Mårten fly in Skåne plains, in the south of Sweden. This side has also two 20's in the corners and the written value of the banknote. This banknote has Selma Lagerlöf's portrait as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 12 cm x 6.7 cm.

Estonia (1992-2006)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the first period after its independence from USSR. There are banknotes of 1 kroon, 2 krooni, 5 krooni, 10 krooni, 25 krooni, 50 krooni, 100 krooni and 500 krooni.

1 kroon (üks kroon)

This banknotes worth 1 kroon was first circulated 1992. On the main side left, you can see a 1 and Kristjan Raud, an 19th-20th century Estonian painter, founder of Estonian National Museum, whose style is reminiscent of Primitivism. In its right appears a 1 and the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Estonian (Eesti Pank). The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements.
On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen Toompea Castle, a 9th century castle that todays houses the national parliament, in Tallinn. In the left there are two 1's, the name of the National Bank and in the right it appears the written value and EP (first letters of the National Bank). This banknotes has Toompea Castle as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13.9 cm x 7 cm.

2 krooni (kaks krooni)

This banknotes worth 2 krooni was first circulated 1992. On the main side left, you can see a 2 and Karl Ernst von Baer, an 18th-19th century Estonian scientist and explorer, founding father of embryology. In its right appears a 2 and the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Estonian (Eesti Pank). The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. 
On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen Univerisity of Tartu, biggest and most prestigious university in Estonia, founded by king Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden (1632). In the left there are two 2's, the name of the National Bank and in the right it appears the written value and EP (first letters of the National Bank). This banknote has the University of Tartu as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13.9 cm x 7 cm. 


5 krooni (viis krooni)

This banknotes worth 5 krooni was first circulated 1994. On the main side center it can be seen Paul Keres, a 20th century Estonian chess player who is considered one of the best in the history (although never was world champion). In its right appears a 5, the written value of the banknote, a chessboard with a knight and a bishop, another 5, the coat of arms and the name of the National Bank in Estonian (Eesti Pank). The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements.
On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen the border between Estonia and Russia with Narva castle in the Estonian part and Ivangorod fortress (Jaanlinn in Estonian) in the Russian one. In the left there's a 5, the name of the National Bank and in the right it appears the written value and another 5. This banknote has the Estonia's coat of arms as digital watermark and a security thread too. The size of this banknote is 14.2 cm x 7 cm.

Mongolia (1993-nowadays)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period after the approval of the new Constitution of the country, with the Social Democratic People's Party of Mongolia in power, with Punsalmaagin Ochirbat as the country's first president. In the 1996 elections, the conservative Democratic Union coalition won the elections, led by Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj. Later the PPM regained the presidency of the country in 1997 and 2001 (with the candidate Natsagiin Bagabandi) and the parliamentary elections until 2008 and in the following year the Democratic Party won the presidency of the State with Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj and in 2012, the parliamentary elections and the re-election of the president in 2013. There are banknotes of 10 mongo, 20 mongo, 50 mongo, 1 tugrik, 5 tugriks, 10 tugriks, 20 tugriks, 50 tugriks, 100 tugriks 500 tugriks, 1,000 tugriks, 5,000 tugriks, 10,000  tugriks and 20,000 tugriks.

10 mongo (арван мөнгө/)

This banknotes worth 10 mongo was first circulated in 1993. On the main side left it can be seen a Soyombo symbol, national symbol of Mongolia. The rest of the banknote has the written value of the banknote, the official name of the country, three 10's and the name of the National Bank in Soyomba handwriting. It also has Mongol archers and decorative elements.
On the other side of the banknote  it has the written value of the banknote, the official name of the country (Монгол улс) and the name of the National Bank in Cirilic writing (Монголбанк), plus three 10's, Mongol archers and decorative elements. This banknote has no digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 4.5 cm x 9 cm.

20 mongo (хорин мөнгө/)




This banknotes worth 20 mongo was first circulated in 1993. On the main side left it can be seen a Soyombo symbol, national symbol of Mongolia. The rest of the banknote has the written value of the banknote, the official name of the country, three 20's and the name of the National Bank in Soyomba handwriting. It also has bökh fighters (Mongolian kind of fight) and decorative elements.
On the other side of the banknote  it has the written value of the banknote, the official name of the country (Монгол улс) and the name of the National Bank in Cirilic writing (Монголбанк), plus three 20's, bökh fighters and decorative elements. This banknote has no digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 4.5 cm x 9 cm. 

50 mongo (тавин мөнгө/)

This banknotes worth 50 mongo was first circulated in 1993. On the main side left it can be seen a Soyombo symbol, national symbol of Mongolia. The rest of the banknote has the written value of the banknote, the official name of the country, three 50's and the name of the National Bank in Soyomba handwriting. It also has Mongol riders and decorative elements.
On the other side of the banknote  it has the written value of the banknote, the official name of the country (Монгол улс) and the name of the National Bank in Cirilic writing (Монголбанк), plus three 50's, horse riders and decorative elements. This banknote has no digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 4.5 cm x 9 cm.


1 tugrik (нэг төгрөг)

This banknote worth 1 tugrik was first circulated in 1993. On the main side left it can be seen Nian, oriental mythological beast that lives under the sea or in the mountains, coming out of hiding at the beginning of spring. In its left there's a paiza, tablet carried by officials and Mongolian envoys as a symbol of their authority and as a safe-conduct in Mongolian territory. Moreover it has the written value of the banknote, the official name of the country and of the National Bank in Soyomba handwriting.
