Detmold

Detmold is a town in northwest Germany inhabited by 73,400 people nowadays. It belongs to the region North Rhine-Westphalia, in the northeast of the region.

A bit about Detmold

The urban are is drained by Werre river. It is surrounded by Teutoburg Forest, a very dense forest.
It was the capital of the small Principality of Lippe from 1468 until 1918. From 1919 to 1947 Detmold was the capital of the Free State of Lippe. Then Lippe was incorporated into the new German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. This city hosts one of the most visited monuments in Germany, Hermanndenkmal (monumento to Arminius, chieftain of German Cherusci and leader of the Germanic in the Batle of Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD).

This banknotes worth 35 Pfennig was first circulated in 1920. On the main side it can be seen four 25's and a picture of Hermanndenkmal and two trees of Teutoburg Forest. In the upper and down part of it, it appers the sentence that is in the sword: "Deutschlands Einigkeit meine Stärke - meine Stärke Deutschlands Macht" which means German unity, my strength - my strength, Germany's power.

On the other side of the banknote, it is about the validity of the banknote, just being exchangable a month after the expiration of the public notice. It has a 25 in the middle and decorative elements surrounding it. As for the digital watermark, it has no watermark.

The size of this banknote is 5.6 cm x 7.4 cm.
