Gernrode is a distrit of Quedlinburg (inhabited
by 22,137 people nowadays), in the center of Germany. It
belongs to the region Saxony-Anhalt, in the east of the region.
A bit about Gernrode
Gernrode is a historic town situated at the northeastern rim of the Harz mountain rage and used to have a local government. Since 2014 it is part of Quedlinburg.
Gernrode was first mentioned in 961, having the privilege of having own coat of arms and stamps. Between 1037 and 1760 there was silver and lead minery. During the Thirty Years' War, some parts of the town were burnt. During WWII, it was ocuppied by Americans and then Soviets. It belonged to East Germany during the Cold War The town was known for Saint Cyriakus, a medieval church. It is one of the few surviving examples of Ottonian architecture

that is a poem about the life in the city. It is said in the lower part that the banknote has to be exchanged 3 months after being said. There are two 50's, one in each side. As for the digital watermark, it has no watermark. The size of this banknote is 8.6 cm x 5.4 cm.

This banknotes worth 50 Pfennig was first circulated May the 9th of 1921. On the main side it can be seen two 50's in left and right sides.
