This serie of banknotes belongs to the period after the fall
of the communist regime, after which Belarus proclaimed its
independence, its Constitution was approved (1994) and in the elections
of that same year, Alexander Lukashenko won and the 1995 referendum was
held, in which the symbols of the country, the official
status of the Russian language and if there should be economic
integration with Russia, being approved with more than 75% of votes..

There is a decorative pattern, two 50's and in the lower part, the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Разліковы Білет Нацыянальнага банка Беларусі). Moreover in the right there is a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law. This banknote has a laberynth along all the banknote as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 10.6 cm x 5.3 cm.
This banknotes worth 50,000 rubles was first circulated in 1995. On the main side you can see the Kholm Gate, a fragment of the 19th century gate of the citadel of Brest Fortress, in Brest; it also has the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Belarusian (Нацыянальны банк Рэспублікі Беларусь). In its left appears the same decorative element that appears in Belarusian flag, called hoist and derives from local flowers and plants. It can also be seen a 50,000 and in the right, a gap for the digital watermark.
The rest of this part of the banknote is decorated with geometric elements. On the other side of the banknote there is an image of the main entrance to the Memorial Brest Hero-Fortress, in Brest. There are two hoists, one on each side of the decoration and, in the left, two 50,000's, the written value of the banknote and a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law. This banknote has Kholm Gate as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15 cm x 6.9 cm.
50 kopeks (пяцьдзесят капеек)
This banknotes worth 50 kopeks was first circulated in 1992. On the main side it can be seen a bushy-tailed squirrel and a 50, surrounded by decorative elements. In the upper part appears the written value of the banknote and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements, a cross inside a square and another 50.
