Bulgaria (1952-1962)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period of Bulgaria being under the leadership of Georgi Dimitrov and becoming part of Soviet sphere. There are banknotes of 1 Bulgarian lev, 3 Bulgarian leva, 5 Bulgarian leva, 10 Bulgarian leva, 25 Bulgarian leva, 50 Bulgarian leva, 100 Bulgarian leva, 200 Bulgarian leva and 500 Bulgarian leva.

3 Bulgarian leva (три лева)

This banknotes worth 3 leva was issued in 1951. On the main side left it can be seen Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times, with the written value of the banknote, a 3 and a text saying state treasury ticket (държавен съкровищен билет). In the upper part can  appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България) and there are four 3's in the corners plus the acronym of Bulgaria's name.
On the other side of the banknote appers two hands holding a sickle and hammer (communist symbol). There are also three 3's and the written value. Moreover there are two texts, the first one says that this banknote should be accepted in the institutions, companies and particulars and the second that countefeiting is punished by law. The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has HPБ's as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 10.9 cm x 5.6 cm. 



5 Bulgarian leva (три лева)

This banknotes worth 5 leva was issued in 1951. On the main side left it can be seen Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times, with the written value of the banknote, a 5 and a text saying state treasury ticket (държавен съкровищен билет). In the upper part can  appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България) and there are three 5's plus the acronym of Bulgaria's name.
On the other side of the banknote appers two hands holding a sickle and hammer (communist symbol). There are also three 5's and the written value. Moreover there are two texts, the first one says that this banknote should be accepted in the institutions, companies and particulars and the second that countefeiting is punished by law. The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has HPБ's as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 12.6 cm x 6 cm.

10 Bulgarian leva (десет лева)

This banknotes worth 10 leva was issued in 1951. On the main side left it can be seen Georgi Dimitrov, Bulgarian polititian who, belonging to Communist Party, was president of the country and who was president of Communist International; and the Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times. It also has the written value of the banknote, four 10's and in the upper part appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България).
On the other side of the banknote appers a tractor plowing a field. There are also three 10's, the written value and the name of the National Bank in Bulgarian (Българска народна банка). Moreover there are two texts, the first one says that this banknote should be accepted in the institutions, companies and particulars and the second that countefeiting is punished by law. The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has a sickle and hammer (communist symbol) as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13.4 cm x 7.1 cm.

25 Bulgarian leva (двадесет и пет лева)

This banknotes worth 25 leva was issued in 1951. On the main side left it can be seen Georgi Dimitrov, Bulgarian polititian who, belonging to Communist Party, was president of the country and who was president of Communist International; and the Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times. It also has the written value of the banknote, four 25's and in the upper part appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България).
On the other side of the banknote appers the construction of a railway. There are also four 25's, the written value and the name of the National Bank in Bulgarian (Българска народна банка). Moreover there are two texts, the first one says that this banknote should be accepted in the institutions, companies and particulars and the second that countefeiting is punished by law. The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has a sickle and hammer (communist symbol) as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 14.6 cm x 7.8 cm.

50 Bulgarian leva (петдесет лева)

This banknotes worth 50 leva was issued in 1951. On the main side left it can be seen Georgi Dimitrov, Bulgarian polititian who, belonging to Communist Party, was president of the country and who was president of Communist International; and the Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times. It also has the written value of the banknote, four 50's and in the upper part appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България).

100 Bulgarian leva (сто лева)

This banknotes worth 100 leva was issued in 1951. On the main side left it can be seen Georgi Dimitrov, Bulgarian polititian who, belonging to Communist Party, was president of the country and who was president of Communist International; and the Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times. It also has the written value of the banknote, three 100's and in the upper part appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България).
On the other side of the banknote appers a female grapes harvester with the traditional Bulgarian dressing. There are also three 100's, the written value and the name of the National Bank in Bulgarian (Българска народна банка). Moreover there are two texts, the first one says that this banknote should be accepted in the institutions, companies and particulars and the second that countefeiting is punished by law. The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has HPБ's as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 16.5 cm x 8.6 cm.

200 Bulgarian leva (двеста лева)

This banknotes worth 200 leva was issued in 1951. On the main side left it can be seen Georgi Dimitrov, Bulgarian polititian who, belonging to Communist Party, was president of the country and who was president of Communist International; and the Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times. It also has the written value of the banknote, three 200's and in the upper part appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България).

500 Bulgarian leva (петстотин лева)

This banknotes worth 500 leva was issued in 1951. On the main side left it can be seen Georgi Dimitrov, Bulgarian polititian who, belonging to Communist Party, was president of the country and who was president of Communist International; and the Bulgaria's coat of arms in communist times. It also has the written value of the banknote, three 500's and in the upper part appears the official name of the country in Bulgarian (Народна Република България).
