Italy (1950-1963)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the years after WWII, when Italy was governed by a conservative party and became founding member of EEC (European Economic Community). There are banknotes of 50 lire, 100 lire and 1,000 lire.

100 lire (cento lire)

This banknotes worth 100 lire was first circulated December the 31st of 1951. On the main side left, you can see a Roman soldier wearing the typical Roman helmet, galea. In the right part of the banknote there is a frame decorated with floristic and still life motiv (it contains a 100 as watermark). In the center can be seen the written value of the banknote and the name of theofficial name of the country in Italian (Repubblica Italiana). The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements.
On the other side you can see in the middle another frame containing 100 lire and in the right and left, gaps. In the right there is a texts that says that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements, pretending being a threater stage. This banknote has some lines simulating being waves in the left and right part of the banknote as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 11 cm x 5.8 cm.

South Africa (1966-1992)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period in which the National Party was in government during the apartheid (segregationist and racist system of the white population on the black in South Africa), in which the country was isolated internationally until the dismantling of apartheid, which began in 1989, when there was a palatial coup by Frederik De Klerk on Pieter Botha, lifting the ban on the African National Congress (main anti-apartheid opposition party) and other leftist political organizations, and releasing Nelson Mandela after 27 years in prison and withdrawing gradually the apartheid legislation. There are banknotes of 1 rand, 2 rands, 5 rands, 10 rands, 20 rands and 50 rands.

1 rand (one rand/een rand)

This banknotes worth 1 rand was issued in 1966. On the main side left appears Jan van Riebeeck, Dutch colonial administrator, commander of the initial settlement in the future Cape Town. Next to him there are some proteas and in the center appears the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in English (South African Reserve Bank) and in Afrikaans (Suid-Afrikaanse Reserwebank).

Moreover there are two 1's in opposite corners and decorative elements. On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen a landscape with two rams and a plow, a lemon tree and in the background a country house and mountains. There are two 1's in opposite corners and decorative elements. This banknote has Jan van Riebeeck as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 12.8 cm x 6.4 cm.

Yemen (1990-2001)

This serie of banknotes belongs in which North Yemen and South Yemen got unificated with Ali Abdallah Saleh as President and Ali Salim al-Beidh became Vice President and occured 1994 civil war in Yemen, resulted in the defeat of southern armed forces. There are banknotes of 10 rials, 20 rials, 50 rials, 100 rials, 200 rials, 500 rials and 1,000 rials.

50 rials (خمسون ريال/fifty rials)

This banknotes worth 50 rials was first circulated in 1993. On the main side left, you can see the bronze statue Ma'adkarib found in Al Baydah (ancient Nashqum) and currenty in Louvre Museum, Paris (France). In the middle appears four Arab 50's in the corners the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Arab (البنك المركزي اليمني ) . In the right there's a gap for the watermark, four Arab 50's in the corners and the rest of the banknote is fulled with typical Arab decoration.
On the other side of the banknote appears a picture of shibam Hadramout (شبام حضرموت), the capital of the Hadramawt Kingdom and the oldest skycraper city in the world. Moreover there are two 50's, the written value and the name of the National Bank in English (Central Bank of Yemen). The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has the eagle from the emblem of the country as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15 cm x 7.4 cm

Switzerland (1954-1976)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period after the war, conflict in which Switzerland was neutral. But in these years there are numerous social advances such as women's suffrage (1971) or the system of the three pillars (1972) and the economy continues to prosper (despite the oil crisis of 1973). Internationally, the country continues to maintain its policy of neutrality, although it joins the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA, 1960) and the Council of Europe (1963). In this period the French-speaking districts of Bern are seceded, creating the canton of Jura, approved definitively in 1978. There are banknotes of 10 Swiss francs, 20 Swiss francs, 50 Swiss francs, 100 Swiss francs, 500 Swiss francs and 1,000 Swiss francs.

10 Swiss francs (dix francs/zehn Franken/dieci franchi/diesch francs)

This banknote worth 100 Swiss francs was first circulated in October the 1st 1956. On the main side right it can be seen Gottfried Keller, a Swiss writer in the German language, considered one of the most important in that language. In the left appears a 10, the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in French (Banque Nationale Suisse), German (Schweizerische Nationalbank) and Italian (Banca Nazionale Svizzera). 
The rest of the bankote has four 10's in the corners and geometric decoration. On the other side of the banknote there's a field scabious plant. Moreover there is a 10 and the name of the National Bank in French, German and Italian. This banknote has no digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13.8 cm x 7.5 cm.

Paraguay (1964-1982)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period of El Stronato, during which the country was headed by the military Alfredo Stroessner. During this period, supported by the US and in the context of military coups in the 60s in the area, the dictatorship achieved significant economic growth, which calmed the political situation (the main opposition parties began to demand peace) and Stroessner allowed political parties and will stand for election (and obtain seats in parliament). Starting in the 1970s, although the economy continued to grow thanks to the Itaipú dam, opposition to the regime increased and its international position was impaired by the violation of human rights (of Guarani opponents and indigenous people). In the following years Domingo Laíno became the main opposition figure and was sentenced to exile in 1982; in this years Stroessner welcomed the Nicaraguan dictator Anastasio Somoza (who was murdered there) and the economic situation deteriorated, forcing many Paraguayans to immigrate. There are banknotes of 1 guaraní, 5 guaraníes, 10 guaraníes, 50 guaraníes, 100 guaraníes, 500 guaraníes, 1,000 guaraníes, 5,000 guaraníes, 10,000 guaraníes and 50,000 guaraníes.  

1,000 guaraníes (mil guaraníes/su guaraní)

This banknote worth 1,000 guaraníes was first circulated in 1963. On the main side right it can be seen Francisco Solano López, a Paraguayan marshal who was the second president of the country and led him in the Paraguayan War. In the left appears Paraguay's coat of arms and in the centere there's a 1,000, the written value of the banknote and in the upper part, the name of the National Bank in Spanish (Banco Central del Paraguay). The upper corners have other two 1,000's and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements.
On the other side of the banknote there's the National Pantheon of Heroes, a mausoleum of some Paraguayan historical heroes in Asunción. Moreover there are two 1,000's (one in each side), the official name of the country (República del Paraguay), the written value of the banknote in Guaraní language and decorative elements. This banknote has no digital watermark but a security thread. The size of this banknote is 15.5 cm x 6.6 cm.

British Armed Forces (1972-1979)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period to the sixth series of bills, issued because the United Kingdom changed to the decimal system (a distinction is made between the new penny and old penny, the one associated with the pre-decimal system). There are banknotes of 5 new pences, 10 new pences and 50 new pences.

5 new pences (five new pence)

This banknotes worth 5 new pences was first circulated in 1968. On the main side left, you can see a pence symbol and a 5 (in each corner there's one). In the middle it has the written value of the banknote, the name of the entity which issued it (British Armed Forces) and a text saying that it was issued by Command of the Defence Council; in the lower part is said 6th serie. All this is decorated with geometric elements.
On the other side of the banknote it can be seen two big 5p's, with other two in the other corners and the written value of the banknote. Moreover it has a text that says the places where the banknote can be used (and exceptions) and the punishment in case it's used in a bad way. This banknote has waves as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 11.5 cm x 5.8 cm.


10 new pences (ten new pence)

This banknotes worth 10 new pences was first circulated in 1968. On the main side left, you can see a pence symbol and a 10 (in each corner there's one). In the middle it has the written value of the banknote, the name of the entity which issued it (British Armed Forces) and a text saying that it was issued by Command of the Defence Council; in the lower part is said 6th serie. All this is decorated with geometric elements.

This serie of banknotes belongs to the 2nd serie of banknotes, used in Austria, Germany, Japan and Singapore. There are banknotes of 3 pence, 6 pence, 1 shilling, 2 shillings, 5 shillings, 10 shillings, 1 pound and 5 pounds.

1 pound (one pound)

This banknotes worth 1 pound was first circulated in 1948. On the main side left, you can see a big pound symbol and a 1 (in the right corners there are other two). In the middle it is written special voucher, the value of the banknote and the name of the entity which issued it (British Armed Forces); in the lower part is said 2nd serie. All this is decorated with geometric elements.
On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen a big £1, with it written in the upper corners and copied in the lower ones. It has a text that says the places where the banknote can be used (and exceptions) and the punishment in case it's used in a bad way. All this is decorated with geometric elements.
