This serie of banknotes belongs in which North Yemen and South Yemen
got unificated with Ali Abdallah Saleh as President and Ali Salim
al-Beidh became Vice President and occured 1994 civil war in Yemen,
resulted in the defeat of southern armed forces. There are banknotes of
10 rials, 20 rials, 50 rials, 100 rials, 200 rials, 500 rials and 1,000
rials.
On the other side of the banknote appears a picture of shibam Hadramout (شبام Øضرموت), the capital of the Hadramawt Kingdom and the oldest skycraper city in the world. Moreover there are two 50's, the written value and the name of the National Bank in English (Central Bank of Yemen). The rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has the eagle from the emblem of the country as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15 cm x 7.4 cm
50 rials (خمسون ريال/fifty rials)
This banknotes worth 50 rials was first circulated in 1993. On the main side left, you can see the bronze statue Ma'adkarib found in Al Baydah (ancient Nashqum) and currenty in Louvre Museum, Paris (France). In the middle appears four Arab 50's in the corners the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Arab (البنك المركزي اليمني ) .
