British Armed Forces (1948-1956)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the 2nd serie of banknotes, used in Austria, Germany, Japan and Singapore. There are banknotes of 3 pence, 6 pence, 1 shilling, 2 shillings, 5 shillings, 10 shillings, 1 pound and 5 pounds.

1 pound (one pound)

This banknotes worth 1 pound was first circulated in 1948. On the main side left, you can see a big pound symbol and a 1 (in the right corners there are other two). In the middle it is written special voucher, the value of the banknote and the name of the entity which issued it (British Armed Forces); in the lower part is said 2nd serie. All this is decorated with geometric elements.
On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen a big £1, with it written in the upper corners and copied in the lower ones. It has a text that says the places where the banknote can be used (and exceptions) and the punishment in case it's used in a bad way. This banknote has no digital watermark but it has a security thread. The size of this banknote is 13.4 cm x 7 cm.



5 pounds (five pounds)

This banknotes worth 5 pounds was first circulated in 1948. On the main side left, you can see a big pound symbol and a 5 (in the right corners there are other two). In the middle it is written special voucher, the value of the banknote and the name of the entity which issued it (British Armed Forces); in the lower part is said 2nd serie. All this is decorated with geometric elements.
On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen a big £5, with it written in the upper corners and copied in the lower ones. It has a text that says the places where the banknote can be used (and exceptions) and the punishment in case it's used in a bad way. This banknote has no digital watermark but it has a security thread. The size of this banknote is 14.7 cm x 8.1 cm.
