Serbia: occupation by Germany (1941-1945)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period in which Nazi Germany invaded the country, creating the Government of National Salvation (German puppet state) leaded by Milan Nedić. There are banknotes 10 dinarа, 20 dinarа, 50 dinarа, 100 dinarа, 500 dinarа and 1,000 dinarа.

100 dinara (сто динара)


This banknotes worth 100 Serbian dinara was first circulated in May the 1st of 1941. On the main side right, you can see a woman sitted with a sword and a gap for the digital watermark. In the center appears a coastal town and boats shipping, with the written value of the banknote. In the lower part there is a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes will be punished by the penal code and in the upper one, the name of the National Bank in Serbian (Српска Народна Банка).
In the rest of the banknote there are two 100's, decorative elements and two stamps with the words Serbian and the name of the National Bank. On the other side of the banknote there are boat shipping, a man with fruits and a shield. It also has stamps with the written value in Cirilic and Latin characters, Serbian coat of arms and the name of the National Bank and the Yugoslav Kingdom National Bank (Narodna Banka Kraljevine Jugoslavije). This banknote has a portrait of Alexander I of Yugoslavia as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 16.9 cm x 10.1 cm.
