Sweden (1973-1990)

This serie of banknotes belongs the years of Prime Minister of the Social Democrat Olof Palme in which Sweden opposed the conflict situations in South Africa and Vietnam and environmental awareness in the country increased, which ended in a referendum in 1980 that approved the closure of all nuclear power plants in 2010, the period of the centrist Thorbjörn Fälldin, the economic crisis and industrial transformation, being subsequently re-elected Palme, who was assassinated in 1986, succeeded by Ingvar Carlsson. There are banknotes of 5 Swedish kronor, 10 Swedish kronor, 50 Swedish kronor, 100 Swedish kronor and 1,000 Swedish kronor.

5 Swedish kronor (fem kronor)

This banknote worth 5 kronor was first circulated in 1973. On the main side right it can be seen Gustav I (Gustav Vasa), 16th century Swedish king who made Sweden independent from Denmark and its first king. In the center there's a 5 with a kind of hammer, the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Swedish (Sveriges Riksbank). In the left it has another 5 and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. 
On the other side you can see a scene of a Swedish woodland with a wood-grouse and a spruce, drawed using geometric elements. This side has three 5's (one in every corner but in the upper left one). This banknote has a network of square containing 5's as digital watermark and coloured hairs scattered throughout the left portion of the banknote too. The size of this banknote is 11 cm x 6.8 cm. 


10 Swedish kronor (tio kronor)

This banknote worth 10 kronor was first circulated in 1973. On the main side right it can be seen Gustav VI Adolf, Swedish king between 1950 and 1973 whose political role was merely representative historically and culturally. In the center there's a the Three Crowns (Swedish coat of arms), two 10's, the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in Swedish (Sveriges Riksbank). In the left it has another 10 and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. 
On the other side you can see a scene of Northern Lights and three snowflakes. This side has two 10's (one in every corner but in the upper left one). This banknote has August Strindberg (one of the most important writers and dramatists in the history of Sweden) as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 12 cm x 6.8 cm.
