USSR (1961-1991)

This serie of banknotes belong to the last part of Khrushchev precidency and the ones from Leonid Brézhnev (with the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, Operation Danube; and the invation of Afghanistan) and Mijaíl Gorbachov, till the referendum for the preservation of the USSR. There are banknotes of 1 Soviet ruble, 3 Soviet rubles, 5 Soviet rubles, 10 Soviet rubles, 25 Soviet rubles, 50 Soviet rubles and 100 Soviet rubles.

1 Soviet ruble (один рубль)

This banknote worth 1 ruble was first circulated in 1961. On the main side center it can be seen a 1 and the written value of the banknote written in Russian. In the right part there is another 1 and in the left one, USSR coat of arms and a text guaranteeing the value of the banknote in gold, precious metals or others. In the upper part of the banknote appears the name of the National Bank in Russian (Госбанк, Государственный банк) and three 1's in the lower part, fulled with decorative elements.
On the other side it can be seen the written value of the banknote in Russian and in other languages of the country (Ukrainian, Belarusian, Uzbek, Kazakh, Georgian, Azerbaijani, Lithuanian, Romanian, Latvian, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Armenian, Turkmen and Estonian), plus a text saying that counterfeiting of tickets of the state bank of the USSR is prosecuted by law. Moreover there are three 1's and decorative elements. This banknote has stars (comunist symbol) inside circles as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 10.5 cm x 5.3 cm.

3 Soviet rubles (три рубля)

This banknote worth 3 rubles was first circulated in 1961. On the main side center it can be seen Vodovzvodnaya Tower, Grand Kremlim Palace and Ivan the Great Bell Tower.
Down, the text says that this banknote has to be accepted as a payment in every institution, company and between people in all USSR territory. In the upper part appears the name of the National Bank in Russian (Госбанк, Государственный банк) and there are three 3's, one in the right and another two in the center.
On the other side it can be seen the written value of the banknote in Russian and in other languages of the country (Ukrainian, Belarusian, Uzbek, Kazakh, Georgian, Azerbaijani, Lithuanian, Romanian, Latvian, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Armenian, Turkmen and Estonian), plus a text saying that counterfeiting of tickets of the state bank of the USSR is prosecuted by law. Moreover there are three 1's and decorative elements. This banknote has stars (comunist symbol) inside circles as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 11.1 cm x 5.7 cm.

5 Soviet rubles (пять рублей)

This banknotes worth 5 rubles was first circulated in 1961. On the main side center it can be seen Spasskaya Tower, a 15th century tower of the Moscow Kremlin in Moscow. In its left appears Soviet coat of arms. Down, the text says that this banknote has to be accepted as a payment in every institution, company and between people in all USSR territory. In the upper part appears the name of the National Bank in Russian (Госбанк, Государственный банк) and there are three 5's, one in the right and another two in the center.

This banknote worth 10 rubles was first circulated in 1961. On the main side left it can be seen Soviet coat of arms. In its right it's written the value of the banknote in Russian and, in smaller writing, in other official languages (Ukranian, Belarusian, Uzbek, Kazakh, Georgian, Azerbaijani, Lithuanian, Romanian, Latvia, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Armenian, Turkmen and Estonian)In the right there's a portrait of Vladimir Lenin, Russian communist revolutionary, politician and political theorist.
He founded the Soviet Union and was its first head of government. On the main side left it can be seen Vladimir Lenin, Russian communist revolutionary, politician and political theorist who founded the Soviet Union and was its first head of government. In the center it appears the Soviet coat of arms, the written value of the banknote, the name of the National Bank in Russian (Госбанк, Государственный банк) and a text guaranteeing the value of the banknote in gold, precious metals or others. There are two 25's (one in the center and one in the right) and the rest is fulled with decorative elements.
On the other side it can be seen red and green breams (USSR colours), the written value of the banknote in Russian and in other languages of the country (Ukrainian, Belarusian, Uzbek, Kazakh, Georgian, Azerbaijani, Lithuanian, Romanian, Latvian, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Armenian, Turkmen and Estonian), plus a text saying that counterfeiting of tickets of the state bank of the USSR is prosecuted by law. In the center it appears the Soviet coat of arms, the written value of the banknote, the name of the National Bank in Russian (Госбанк, Государственный банк) and a text guaranteeing the value of the banknote in gold, precious metals or others. There are three 50's (two in the center and one in the right) and the rest is fulled with decorative elements.

This banknote worth 100 rubles was first circulated in 1961.
