Germany (1915-1919)

This serie of banknotes is the one during WWI. Some of the banknotes were coined by the Reichsschuldenverwaltung (National Debt Office) and are called Darlehnskassenscheine and others were coined by the Reichsbankdirektorium (National Bank) and are called Reichsbanknote. There are banknotes of 5 Deutsche Mark, 20 Deutsche Mark and 50 Deutsche Mark.

5 Deutsche Mark (fünf Mark)

This banknotes worth 20 Mark was first circulated August the 1st of 1917. On the main side right, you can see a German woman with a crown of flowers and in the lower part there is a 5. In the other side appears German Empire eagle (its coat of arms), the noun Darlehnskassenschein and the written value in Gothic style letters.The lower part text says that counterfeiting the banknote is punished with more than two years in prission.
On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen German Empire coat of arms, with two black stamps in its right and left. There are a 5 and the written value of the banknote too. As for the digital watermark, it is ornamental repeated pattern. The size of this banknote is 12.5 cm x 7.9 cm.



20 Deutsche Mark (zwanzig Mark)

This banknotes worth 20 Mark was first circulated November the 4th of 1915. On the main side, you can see a 20, over the German empire eagle, inside a circle, with men using a cornucopia (ancient Greek symbol of abundance and nourishment) full of coins. In both left and right side appear a red stamp, as well as two fleur-de-lis in each side. In the center of this banknote appears the written value of the banknote. 

In the lower part appears a text saying that counterfeiting the banknote is punished with more than two years in prission. On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen an allegoric man in the left and an allegoric woman in the right. In the middle there is another 20 and the M of Mark. All the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. As for the digital watermark, it is full of lines. The size of this banknote is 14.6 cm x 8.9 cm.

20 Deutsche Mark (zwanzig Mark)

This banknotes worth 20 Mark was first circulated February the 20th of 1918. On the main side, you can see Minerva (in Greek Athena, a Roman godess of wisdom and strategic warfare) in the left and Mercury (in Greek Hermes, a Roman god of commerce, messages, travelers and luck) in the right. In the middle there are two black stamps and over the gods, two 20's. In the upper part is written the value of the banknote. 
In the lower part, a text says that counterfeiting the banknote is punished with more than two years in prission. On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen in the left a man in armour and in the right, an allegorical woman. In the center there's a 20 and the word Mark and over them, an eagle. There are four 20's in the corners and the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. As for the digital watermark, it is ornamental repeated pattern. The size of this banknote is 14.6 cm x 9 cm.
