Germany (1914-1915)

This serie of banknotes (called Darlehnskassenscheine) is the first one after World War I was declared. There are banknotes of 1 Deustche Mark, 2 Deutsche Mark, 20 Deutsche Mark, 50 Deutsche Mark and 100 Deutsche Mark.

1 Deutsche Mark (ein Mark)

This banknotes worth 1 Mark was first circulated August the 12th of 1914. On the main side right and left it can be seen two stamps (one red and another with relief) with the eagle (called Reichsadler) of the German Empire (Deutsches Reich) and two 1's. In the middle there's the written value of the banknote in Gothic letters, the name of the currency (Darlehnskassenscheine) and the name of the National Bank in German (Reichsschuldenverwaltung), completed with a text saying counterfeiting the banknote is punished with more than two years in prission.
On the other side of the banknote it can be seen the Empire eagle with geometric decoration. The rest of the banknote is completed with four 1's, the name of the currency, the written value of the banknote and more decorative elements. This banknote has rhombus with crosses inside as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 9.5 cm x 6 cm.

2 Deutsche Mark (zwei Mark)

This banknotes worth 2 Mark was first circulated August the 12th of 1914. On the main side right and left it can be seen two stamps (one red and another with relief) with the eagle (called Reichsadler) of the German Empire (Deutsches Reich) and two 2's. In the middle there's the written value of the banknote in Gothic letters, the name of the currency (Darlehnskassenscheine) and the name of the National Bank in German (Reichsschuldenverwaltung), completed with a text saying counterfeiting the banknote is punished with more than two years in prission.
On the other side of the banknote it can be seen the Empire eagle with geometric decoration. The rest of the banknote is completed with two 2's, the name of the currency, the written value of the banknote and more decorative elements. This banknote has rhombus with crosses inside as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 11 cm x 7 cm.

5 Deutsche Mark (fünf Mark)

This banknotes worth 5 Mark was first circulated August the 5th of 1914. On the main side right it can be seen a 5. In the middle there's the written value of the banknote in Gothic letters, the name of the currency (Darlehnskassenscheine) and the name of the National Bank in German (Reichsschuldenverwaltung), completed with a text saying counterfeiting the banknote is punished with more than two years in prission.
Moreover there's a frame with the eagle (called Reichsadler) of the German Empire (Deutsches Reich)in the background and the rest of the banknote is completed with decorative elements. On the other side of the banknote it can be seen a 5, two stamps (both red), the written value of the banknote, the name of the currency, two portraits of kaiser Wilheim and in the background, a ceptre, a sword and a imperial crown. This banknote has two 5's and decorative elements as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 12.5 cm x 8 cm. 

50 Deutsche Mark (fünfzig Mark)

This banknotes worth 50 Mark was first circulated August the 5th of 1914. On the main side right and left it can be seen two stamps (both blue) with the eagle (called Reichsadler) of the German Empire (Deutsches Reich). In the middle there's the written value of the banknote in Gothic letters, the name of the currency (Darlehnskassenscheine) and the name of the National Bank in German (Reichsschuldenverwaltung), completed with a text saying counterfeiting the banknote is punished with more than two years in prission.
Moreover there's a shield with a sword and an eagle in the background and the rest of the banknote is completed with decorative elements. On the other side of the banknote it can be seen a 50, the written value of the banknote, the name of the currency and two portraits of kaiser Wilheim in the background. This banknote has no digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15.1 cm x 10 cm.
