Yugoslavia (1985-1990)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period before Yugoslav wars (civil wars). There are banknotes of 5,000 Yugoslav dinara, 20,000 Yugoslav dinara, 50,000 Yugoslav dinara, 100,000 Yugoslav dinara, 500,000 Yugoslav dinara, 1,000,000 Yugoslav dinara and 2,000,000 Yugoslav dinara.

5,000 Yugoslav dinara (пет хиљада динара/pet tisuća dinara/pet tisoč dinarjev/пет илјади динари)

This banknote worth 5,000 dinara was first circulated in 1985. On the main side left it can be seen Josif Broz (Tito), Yugoslav politician, military and head of state of Yugoslavia from the end of WW2 until 1980. In the center part there is a 20,000 with Yugoslavia's coat of arms and the written value of the banknote in Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian and Macedonian. In the upper part there's the name of the National Bank in Serbian (Народна банка Југославије), Croatian (Narodna Banka Jugoslavije) and Macedonian (Народна банка на Југославија).
In the right there is a gap for the watermark and another 5,000. On the other side of the banknote appears a big 5,000 with Plivia Waterfall and Jajce (in Bosnia-Herzegovina) and the written value in Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian and Macedonian. There's also the name of the regions of Yugoslavia and the official name of the country in Latin (Jugoslavija) and Cirilic (Југославија) alphabets. In the lower part there's a text saying that counterfeiting is punished by law. This banknote has Alija Sirotanović's face as digital watermark and a security thread too. The size of this banknote is 16.6 cm x 7.6 cm. 

20,000 Yugoslav dinara (двадесет хиљада динара/dvadeset tisuća dinara/dvajset tisoč dinarjev/дваесет илјади динари)

This banknote worth 20,000 dinara was first circulated in 1988. On the main side left it can be seen Alija Sirotanović, a Yugoslav miner who was taken as a model for workers. In the center part there is a 20,000 with Yugoslavia's coat of arms and the written value of the banknote in Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian and Macedonian. In the upper part there's the name of the National Bank in Serbian (Народна банка Југославије), Croatian (Narodna Banka Jugoslavije) and Macedonian (Народна банка на Југославија).

On the other side of the banknote appears a big 20,000 with mining machinery and the written value in Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian and Macedonian. There's also the name of the regions of Yugoslavia and the official name of the country in Latin (Jugoslavija) and Cirilic (Југославија) alphabets. In the lower part there's a text saying that counterfeiting is punished by law. This banknote has Alija Sirotanović's face as digital watermark and a security thread too. The size of this banknote is 17.2 cm x 7.8 cm.


50,000 Yugoslav dinara (педесет хиљада динара/pedeset tisuća dinara/petdeset tisoč dinarjev/педесет илјади динари)

This banknote worth 50,000 dinara was first circulated in 1988. On the main side left it can be seen a young woman. In the center part there is a 50,000 with Yugoslavia's coat of arms and the written value of the banknote in Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian and Macedonian. In the upper part there's the name of the National Bank in Serbian (Народна банка Југославије), Croatian (Narodna Banka Jugoslavije) and Macedonian (Народна банка на Југославија).

On the other side of the banknote appears a big 50,000 with an image of Dubrovnik, a Croatian city in the Adriatic Sea and the written value in Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian and Macedonian. There's also the name of the regions of Yugoslavia and the official name of the country in Latin (Jugoslavija) and Cirilic (Југославија) alphabets. In the lower part there's a text saying that counterfeiting is punished by law. This banknote has the woman's face as digital watermark and a security thread too. The size of this banknote is 17.4 cm x 8.1 cm. 

100,000 Yugoslav dinara (сто хиљада динара/sto tisuća dinara/sto tisoč dinarjev/сто илјади динари)

This banknote worth 100,000 dinara was first circulated in 1989. On the main side left it can be seen a girl. In the center part there is a 100,000 with Yugoslavia's coat of arms and the written value of the banknote in Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian and Macedonian. In the upper part there's the name of the National Bank in Serbian (Народна банка Југославије), Croatian (Narodna Banka Jugoslavije) and Macedonian (Народна банка на Југославија).

In the lower part there's a text saying that counterfeiting is punished by law. This banknote has the girl's face as digital watermark and a security thread too. The size of this banknote is 18.1 cm x 8.1 cm.
