This serie of banknotes belongs to the period in Japan it occupied Manchuria (1931) and later China (1937), beginning the Second Sino-Japanese War, and French Indonesia and Indonesia, suffering a trade embargo by the Allied nations (Japan belonged to the Axis, together with Germany and Italy) , which ended in Japan's participation in World War II with the attack on Pearl Harbor and conquering Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Wake Island, Burma, Thailand and the Dutch East Indies. This is series uses Kyūjitai or seiji, the traditional Japanese kanji (since 1946 the kanji used in Japan with the list Tōyō kanji was reformed). There are banknotes of 50 sen, 5 yens, 10 yen, 20 yen and 100
yen.
In the left there's a text saying that it's the year 1938 (13th year of Shōwa emperor, Hirohito), in the right a text saying and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen two 50's, the written value of the banknote and decorative elements. This banknote has no digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13.9 cm x 7.6 cm.
50 sen (錢拾五)
This banknotes worth 50 sen was issued in 1938. On the main side center it can be Mount Fuji, the highest mountain and symbol of Japan and blosoomed cherry trees. In the upper part appears the Imperial Seal of Japan or Chrysanthemum Seal (菊花紋章, kikukamon), the name of the National Bank in Japanese (日本銀行) and the name of the currency (券行銀本日).In the left there's a text saying that it's the year 1938 (13th year of Shōwa emperor, Hirohito), in the right a text saying and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements.
