Hungary: occupation by USRR (1944)

This serie of banknotes belongs the period in which, during WWII, the Red Army (which belonged to the Soviet Union) conquered the country and defeated it. There are banknotes of 1 pengö, 2 pengö, 5 pengö, 10 pengö, 20 pengö, 50 pengö, 100 pengö and 1,000 pengö.

This banknote worth 1 pengö was first circulated in 1944. On the main side right, you can see the written value of the banknote, with two 1's in the sides. In the upper part it can be seen the entity who coined this banknotes, which is the Red Army Command in Hungarian (A Vörös hadsereg Parancsnoksága). The lower text says that not accepting this payment is punished by military law. The rest of the banknote is decorated with geometric elements.
On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen the written value of the banknote, two 1's and the name of the Red Army Command in Hungarian, as well as decorative elements. This banknote has geometric figures as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15.9 cm x 7.1 cm.
