This serie of banknotes belongs to the
period when the Sixth National Congress of the Communist Party of
Vietnam took place and reformist politicians seized powers and did
free-market reforms. There
are banknotes of 200 đồng, 500 đồng, 1,000 đồng, 2,000 đồng and 5,000 đồng.
In the upper part it appears the official name of the country in Vietnamese (Cộng hòa xã hội Chú Nghĩa Việt Nam).On the other side you can see agricultural production with a tractor. You can see two 200's in opposite corners and the written name of the baknote. In the upper part appears again This banknote has geometric figures as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13 cm x 6.5 cm.

This banknotes worth 200 đồng was first issued in September the 30th 1987. On the main side right you can see Hồ Chà Minh, a Vietnamese communist revolutionary who lead the independence movement and creating (and leading till 1965) Vietnam North.
