This serie of banknotes belongs to the
period in which Abdulla Yameen run the presidency, which he survive an
assassination attempt, the vice president was arrested and state of
emergency was declared.
There are banknotes of 1 rufiyaa, 5 rufiyaa, 10 rufiyaa, 20 rufiyaa, 50
rufiyaa, 100 rufiyaa, 500 rufiyaa and 1,000 rufiyaa.
On the other side of the banknote, it can be seen a conch shell (sangu). There is a 5, the written value of the banknote and the name of the National Bank in English (Maldives Monetary Authority). In the lower part appears the name of the country and two other 5's. This banknote has no digital watermark (as it's made of polymer) but a transparent window with football ball shape. The size of this banknote is 7 cm x 15 cm.
