Egypt (2000-2013)

This serie of banknotes belongs the last period of President Mubarak and, when Egyptian revolution took place, he resigned. In 2011 Egypt held its first parliamentary election, in which Mohamed Morsi was elected president. There are banknotes of 5 piastres, 10 piastres, 5 pounds, 10 pounds, 50 pounds, 100 pounds and 200 pounds.

5 قروش/piastres (خمس قرش/five piastres)

This banknotes worth 5 piastres was first circulated in 2002. On the main side right, you can see a bust of queen Nefertiti, an Egyptian queen from the year 1370 to 1330 BC. In the center appears the written value of the banknote and the official name of the country in Arab (جمهورية مصر العربية). In the left appears a space for the watermark and in the two upper opposite corners, the value of the banknote.  
On the other side left you can see the written value of the banknote. It can be seen in the center the official name of the country in English (The Arab Republic of Egypt). In the four corners there are four 5's and the rest of the banknote is fulled with geometric elements. This banknote has the mask of pharaoh King Tutankhamon as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 9.5 cm x 5.7 cm. 


قروش10/piastres(عشرة قرش/ten piastres)

This banknotes worth 10 piastres was first circulated in 1998. On the main side right, you can see the Great Sphinx and pyramids at Giza, built 2558–2532 BC. In the center appears the written value of the banknote and the official name of the country in Arab (جمهورية مصر العربية). In the left appears a space for the watermark and in two opposite corners, the value of the banknote. 

On the other side left you can see the Saladin Citadel (Muhammad Ali Mosque Citadel), in Cairo. It can be seen in the center the written value of the banknote and the official name of the country in English (The Arab Republic of Egypt). In two opposite corners there are two 10's and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has Tutankhamon statue as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 11.7 cm x 6.2 cm.
