Uzbekistan (1994-1997)

This serie of banknotes is the one after the end of the communist regime, with Islam Karimov as ruler. There are banknotes of 1 sum, 3 sum, 5 sum, 10 sum, 25 sum, 50 sum and 100 sum.

25 sum (Йигирма беш сум)


This banknotes worth 25 sum was first circulated July 1st of 1994. On the main side center, you can see the Uzbek coat of arms, a 25 and the written value of the banknote surrounded by a Huma bird, a mythological bird symbolizing happiness and love of freedom; in its uppert part appears the name of the National Bank in Uzbek (Узбекистон республикаси марказий банки) and in the lower a text saying that this currency has to be accepted all along the country.
In the left part appears a traditional mosaic. On the other side of the banknote it can be seen Kazi Zade Rumi mausoleum placed in Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, in Samarkand. It has decorative elements, the value of the banknote and a text saying counterfeiting is illegal. The digital watermark of this banknote is Uzbezkistan's coat of arms. The size of this banknote is 14.3 cm x 6.9 cm. 


50 sum (эллик сум)


This banknotes worth 50 sum was first circulated July 1st of 1994. On the main side center, you can see the Uzbek coat of arms, a 50 and the written value of the banknote surrounded by a Huma bird, a mythological bird symbolizing happiness and love of freedom; in its uppert part appears the name of the National Bank in Uzbek (Узбекистон республикаси марказий банки) and in the lower a text saying that this currency has to be accepted all along the country.
In the left part appears some decorative elements with a Muslim typically-decorated door. On the other side of the banknote it can be seen Registan square with Ulugh Beg madrasa (left), Sher-Dor madrasa (right) and Tilya-Kori madrasa, in Samarkand. It has decorative elements, the value of the banknote and a text saying counterfeiting is illegal. The digital watermark of this banknote is Uzbezkistan's coat of arms. The size of this banknote is 14.3 cm x 6.9 cm.

100 sum (юз сум)

This banknotes worth 100 sum was first circulated July 1st of 1994. On the main side center, you can see the Uzbek coat of arms, a 100 and the written value of the banknote surrounded by a Huma bird, a mythological bird symbolizing happiness and love of freedom; in its uppert part appears the name of the National Bank in Uzbek (Узбекистон республикаси марказий банки) and in the lower a text saying that this currency has to be accepted all along the country.
In the left part appears some decorative elements with an Indian peafowl and a crescent, Muslim symbol. In the back part of it appears Istiklol Palace, a 1981-built building which hosted Palace of People's Friendship, in Tashkent. It has decorative elements, the value of the banknote and a text saying counterfeiting is illegal. The digital watermark of this banknote is Uzbezkistan's coat of arms. The size of this banknote is 14.3 cm x 6.9 cm.
