South Vietnam (1956-1964)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the period of a constitutional republic with Ngo Dinh Diem as president of the Republic, carrying out a policy that ended in the Buddhist crisis of 1963 and his subsequent assassination in that same year (by his Buddhist and Communist enemies), ruling in 1964 Duong Van Minh and then Nguyen Khanh. There are banknotes of 1 đồng,  2 đồng, 5 đồng, 10 đồng, 20 đồng, 50 đồng, 100 đồng, 200 đồng and 500 đồng.

100 đồng (một trăm đồng)

This banknotes worth 100 đồng was first circulated in 1955. On the main side center it can be seen a farmer with his tractor with two 100's in its left and right. In the lower part has the written value of the banknote and in the upper part, the name of the National Bank in Vietnamese (Ngân-hàng Quốc-gia Việt-nam). In the corners there are four 100's and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. 
On the other side of the banknote there's a peacock, together with two 100's and the written value of the banknote. In the lower part appears a text saying that counterfeiting banknotes is punished by law and the rest of the banknote is fulled with decorative elements. This banknote has no digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 15.5 cm x 6.7 cm.
