This serie of banknotes belongs to the period in which Franco's
dictatorship transited from the autarchy to the development of the
national-catolicism, the foundation of the car's company SEAT and there
is a change in the government, the sixth one, and Barcelona's tram
strike took place (1951). There
are banknotes of 1 peseta, 5 pesetas, 100 pesetas and 1,000 pesetas.
On the other side you can see the Costumbrist paiting El Cacharrero, by Francisco de Goya (whose wife was Francisco Bayeu's sister, Josefa Bayeu). There are three 100's, the name of the National Bank and a gap for the digital watermark. This banknote has Francisco de Goya's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13.7 cm x 87 cm.
100 pesetas (cien pesetas)
This banknotes worth 100 pesetas was first circulated May the 2nd of 1948. On the main side left, it can be seen Francisco Bayeu, a 18th century Spanish Neoclasic painter in Charles III's court.
