This serie of banknotes belongs to the
period of the Sudane internal conflict between the Army of Sudan and the
Sudan Revolutionary Front, which ended up in South Sudanese
independence. There
are banknotes of 2 pounds, 5 pounds, 10 pounds, 20 pounds and 50 pounds.
On in other side of the banknote it can be seen some traditional musical instruments, like mbira and riq. In the upper part you can see the name of the National Bank in English (Central Bank of Sudan) and in the lower one, the written name of the banknote. There are two 2's and the sentence "Legal Tender Banknote". This banknote has a pigeon as digital watermark and a security thread too. The size of this banknote is 14.5 cm x 6.2 cm.
2 جنيهان/Sudanese pounds (جنيهان سودانيان/two Sudanese pounds)
This banknotes worth 2 pounds was first issued in June 2011. On the main side you can see some traditional pottery from the country (like some earthenware pitcher) and decorative elements. In left side there is a gap for the watermark and the written value of the banknote. In the upper part you can see the name of the National Bank in Arabic .(بنك السودان المركزي)On in other side of the banknote it can be seen some traditional musical instruments, like mbira and riq.
