Spain (1970-1982)

This serie of banknotes belongs to the one of last of the dictatorship of Franco and the first one of the Transición, transition from the dictatorship to democracy. There are banknotes of 100 pesetas, 500 pesetas and 1,000 pesetas.

100 pesetas (cien pesetas)

This banknotes worth 100 pesetas was first circulated November the 17th of 1970. On the main side right, you can see Manuel de Falla, a 20th century Spanish composer whose compositions are based on folk music. Next to him appears the Spanish coat of arms from Franco's times and the written value of the banknote. In its left appears a gap used for the digital watermark, there are four 100's and in the upper part, the name of the National Bank in Spanish (Banco de España).
There are geometric elements in the border and floristic ones. On the other side you can the image of Patio de la Acequia (Water-Garden Courtyard), located in La Alhambra's gardens (Generalife), in Granada. In the right appears a gap por the digital watermark. This side has three 100's and borders with geometric elements. This banknote has Manuel de Falla's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 13.6 cm x 8.8 cm.

500 pesetas (quinientas pesetas)

This banknotes worth 500 pesetas was first circulated July the 23rd of 1971. On the main side right, you can see Jacinto Verdaguer, a Spanish priest and poet who wrote in Catalan pieces like La Atlántida o Canigó. Next to him appears the Spanish coat of arms from Franco's times and the written value of the banknote. In its left appears a gap used for the digital watermark, there are three 500's and in the upper part, the name of the National Bank in Spanish (Banco de España).

There are geometric elements in the border and floristic ones. On the other side appears Cangió mountain and the small French village Vernet-les-Bains, Verdaguer's inspiration situated near the Spanish border. In the right appears a gap por the digital watermark. This side has four 500's, the name of the National Bank and borders with geometric elements. This banknote has Jacinto Verdaguer's face as digital watermark. The size of this banknote is 14.4 cm x 8.5 cm.
